Most days, I waddle out to our mailbox and wheelbarrow the pile of catalogs right over to recycling. (I used to be better about logging on to cancel certain ones, but these days…. I’m lucky to have pants on.) There are, however, a handful of catalogs that I actually look through for inspiration around here. Wisteria… Land of Nod… Pottery Barn Kids… Ballard Designs… Well, I have a collection of inspiration pics (I know… with Pinterest, what’s the point… but I kinda like the old school quality of these tear sheets) and this image was one of them.
I loved the simplicity of the basket on the wheels for low key storage. Just takes the basket one tiny step further AND adds to the utility of the whole thing because of the newfound mobility.
Every once in a while when I’m cruising the flea, I actually remember some of these catalog ideas that I have piled up in my workspace. Not often… but occasionally the ideas come to me in a moment of DIY clarity! For $12 I came home with this basket and for $6 I came home with these piano movers. (I had no idea that’s what the were called until the seller said something…)
A quick drill. A few screws. And…. super cute storage.
I’m thinking of using this in the guest room for extra blankets, but until then it’s just holding some pillows and throws in the den. So much better than stacked on the back of the couch!
