When I look at all the pretty pretty interior design pictures or drool over other blogs, often what I’m drawn to the most are the sweet little vignettes scattered around. Not necessarily the big design picture, but the miniature moments.
I’ve been trying to create little moments (kidproof moments, mind you) around our house… they’re not complicated, and are sometimes as simple as a small plant in a cloche.
I also realized that sometimes the vignettes were there all along and it was just a matter of turning the camera on them!
There are many MANY people who do this waaaay better than I do, but I try to consider a few basics when I group things. I use an odd number of like-items, I try to vary the height of my objects, and I like to use different colors and/ or textures.
And with all of this, sometimes it works… and sometimes it doesn’t! But no one’s coming through and grading these (that I know of) so have fun with it! Worst case scenario is you can drop the word vignettes in front of all your friends…
