It’s throwback Friday, y’all! (I know, it’s meant to be throwback Thursday what with the alliteration and all, but it’s been that sort of a week…)
I don’t know about you, but as much as I like the barbecues and the clear blue skies and the watermelon and the smell of Coppertone… I’m euphoric that the end of summer is almost here. Juggling three quasi-feral kids amid construction and a muddy yard has meant for a long somewhat disorganized summer. And anyone with small kids can attest, disorganized is not a great starting point for well-behaved children. Long way of saying, a little more structure will be a welcome relief over here!
So the first throwback for pre-Labor Day is this simple, but mesmerizing, little twist on bathtime.
1. Glow, Glow, Glow Your Boat
Glow sticks are magic, folks. If you think three small bodies in a bath is a recipe for calm, then stop by our house every other night around 6:30. But tonight, I remembered my stash of glow sticks and bathtime was downright zen.
2. Bamboo, Cushions and Piping… Oh My
I’m working on a fun project for Jo-Ann and Waverly’s Waverize It! Challenge, and needed to refresh my piping prowess. (On a related note, I’ve been trying to sell these chairs on Craigslist with no luck… if anyone’s interested, drop me a line!)
3. ReEntry With A Little Help From Craig
As fall approaches, it’s come to my attention that I will in fact be having another baby. So, naturally I’ve been on Craigslist grabbing a few little things. I’m reminded of how much I love that place! Where everybody knows my name… kinda sorta.
(And for those of you wanting a taste of one of the Ciburbanity early rookie posts, here ya go.)
Finally, I’m reminded that Eleanor was the one giving me a run for my money at this point last summer (now Oliver wins the prize):
No explanation needed for this one.
Have a great Labor Day weekend, folks. Most of you have a few days of school under your belt (we don’t start for another week), so enjoy this last summer hurrah!
