Yesterday morning, I was mindlessly cruising through Facebook and one of the ads on the right margin caught my attention. This one from One Kings Lane:
Before I even clicked through to see the specifics, I needed to get to Homegoods and get there fast I tell you. Here’s where someone with a fancy degree would say I have some “impulse problems.” I followed my impulse right on out to the sweet sweet minivan and over to the Homegoods and found these wooden utensils for $3.99. The bowl looked like it might add a little sumthin’ sumthin’ so I threw that in for another $4.99 clams.
Some of the other painted utensils on One Kings Lane had chevrons and other more intricate patterns but I kept it simple like the ones above by adding a few stripes. I used some painters tape and craft paint and let my fingers do the stripin’.
These probably won’t hold up in the washing machine so I’ll have to hand wash, but I did paint them with a protective coat of polycrylic just to seal them and to bring back some sheen.
A couple more weeks and maybe we can use these for our first spring picnic! Here’s hoping…
