Long before we moved into this house, the 3rd floor attic was finished off and is now a little bedroom suite. We use the back room as our colorful playroom and the front room is a small bedroom with an en suite bathroom.
The bright carpet (purchased on DEEP discount from the Stark Carpet Outlet) has set the tone for this space.
Along one wall are three Ikea Expedit shelves to store toys. I love these simple Land of Nod baskets as they’re affordable AND durable. I printed out images for each basket, laminated them and used some ribbon to tie them on as labels for the kids to follow.
The slide was an early Craigslist purchase and it’s the best. Just like in Go, Dog, Go… The kids play under it, they play over it, they go down it, they go up it… I wish I’d had a slide growing up!
I made this art center for Eleanor over the summer and she spends lots of time up there. It’s not always the neatest place in our house but the best art is messy art if you ask me!
We have a twin bed up here for the time being. One day perhaps we’ll replace this with a convertible sofa of sorts, but this bed is great to have when we have families come visit or when Eleanor and Oliver need to be separated to get some sleep! The sweet headboard was a Craigslist find.
That pair of chairs used to be rust colored and a year ago I finally got around to recovering them. They’re the perfect fit for this small-er space!
