I’m a cooped up upholsterer dying to break loose. At least I’m in awe of good upholstery and would probably upholster everything in my house with a mish-mash of fabrics if I knew what I was doing. Which I do NOT sadly. But lots of talented folks totally nailed it in this month’s Fab Furniture Flippin’ Contest.
The amazing sponsor from this past month was Minted and everyone had 5 yards of fabric with which to work some re-covering wizardry. Below are my personal favorites as well as the winner!
MY first favorite is this gorgeous chair and ottoman from Queen Patina. Remember what I said about pattern matching? Rachel nailed it. Again, I ask… how do people sew double welt so perfectly?! #jealous
Moving along… this pair of his/ her chairs from Katie at Creatively Living are amazing. I love the patterns she chose, the sleek chairs on which she used them and… the unexpected twist of the two different fabrics! Love that idea.
Favorite number three, well *obviously* great minds think alike, right?! Of all the hundreds of fabrics on Minted’s site, Darrielle (DD’s Cottage) and I both chose the same gorgeous one! I LOVE how it looks with the different colored gimp here… thinking I might go back and add a little something to my bench!
See what I mean? Varsity upholstery action right here with these three! If you thought these projects were bad to the bone… then take a look at the WINNER! Robin from Redo It Yourself reupholstered an ENTIRE CHAIR, y’all!!!! Like, whoa.
Now, head on over to my lovely co-hosts to see who their favorites were as well!
For December, the Fab Flippin’ Contest is going a different direction and letting YOU decide which of our past judge’s favorites and 2nd/ 3rd place winners should win one of the amazing prize packages from past sponsors.
