A few weeks ago, I picked up this sign at Goodwill for $6. This type of sign is everywhere: Homegoods, Michael’s, JoAnn, TJMaxx… I’ve never been to a Hobby Lobby, but probably there too. In any event, I liked the quote on mine, but not the color. Dreary-amundo.
Nothing this intrepid do-it-yourselfer couldn’t tackle with a little craft paint. And an evening watching cheesy television. A gander at my craft paint selection and I chose colors that were colorful and bright.
With a fine tipped brush, I worked my way through all the letters.
I wasn’t sure what color to paint the background so I mocked up a couple of options: black background vs. white background.
I liked the way the colors stood out against the black background so a little more painting and… a new and improved sign!
So there you have it! A cheap and easy way to personalize basic home decor signs. I hung it in the playroom over the large window with the no-sew curtains so I would really have NO chance of taking a good picture into the light. I’m clever that way…
