Disclosure: Build.com is generously working with me to help with the Restaurant Redesign and they have provided product in exchange for these posts. Their lights are the bomb.com and have already made such a difference in this space! Every ounce of praise is coming straight from my little ol’ mouth.
A few months ago, I started work on a restaurant redesign with friends up in Massachusetts. I leapt at the chance to 1. try something new, 2. expand my scope and… 3. see the makeover that I knew was possible when I saw the “before” pictures. (For those of you who follow me on Facebook, you’ve had a peek of some before/ after pics already!)
I haven’t even seen the space in person since the makeover started, but I am SO stoked by the new and improved brightness of the cellphone photos that have been sent to me so far!
Part of our challenge with this job was… of course…. budget. Our design theme is weathered nautical cool, so when I saw this post by Jaime about her new lights and then another by Krista at The Happy Housie and noticed both had used Build.com, I pounced. And I couldn’t be happier that I did! Build.com is generously providing most of the lighting for this project, and after weeks of devouring their site, I wanted to share the fixtures we’ve settled on!
Lighting was a priority for me… unfortunately keeping the existing track lights was necessary because budget wouldn’t allow for a more ambiant option like recessed lighting. But I still wanted to bring in some wall sconces where possible. These small barn lights were EXACTLY what I had in mind.
The bathroom was another space that was big on our hit list… I firmly believe that a bathroom sets the tone for the overall establishment. Think about it… walk into a super chic, super cool bathroom and what do you feel about the restaurant overall? I’m telling you… the bathroom is the window to the restaurant’s soul. This sconce light for over the mirror will hopefully reflect our new improved lavatory vibe.
Finally… I’m MOST excited about the overhaul we have planned for the bar itself. The current beast is about to meet its maker, but not before we come up with a solution for storing all of the glassware. Beneath the counter is taken up with kegs and behind the counter is chalk full of liquor. Unfortunately the glasses need to stay stored in a hanging system, but… the plan is to rebuild this set up and use these supermodels as overhead lighting.
The paint and the flooring helped to set the stage for the new space, but I’m totally hoping that these gorgeous lights will be the icing on the cake. The cherry on top. The crown jewel. You get the idea…
I can’t say it enough, but Build.com has been inordinately patient and generous and easy to work with, not to mention they have what feels like a million different options from which to choose. Stay tuned for the glamorous after shots of these various fixtures… it’s gonna be SO. GOOD!!!
