I’m a firm believer in telling folks about my plans so that I have a reason to actually go through with them! Well, here’s hoping there’s an art center by the end of the weekend. To
taunt you keep you up to speed with my planning process, here are some pictures of the materials I’ve started collecting… Item #1 was scored off Craigslist for $40. (And a pair of lamps was thrown in for good measure!)
I stumbled upon this storage piece at Goodwill… I may use it for the kids’ play kitchen and reclaim some baskets currently holding play food, but I need to get everything into the space before I know for sure. Regardless, a quick coat of spray paint and $20 well spent.
Of course, Ikea was one of my shopping destinations and I literally spied this bad boy headed to the cash wrap. $39.99’s not cheap, but I think it will be a durable easy storage solution for all the little supplies that Eleanor won’t need on hand all the time. And who doesn’t love putting together Ikea furniture?!
Now for the fun stuff…. again, until I go to install, I won’t know for sure, but I think this pile of goodies will address my ‘must have’ list of storage and a way to display Eleanor’s masterpieces.
Of course I’ll try to add some design elements and some fun little details, but I’m excited about the nuts and bolts of this project so far. So just like moving to New York City 15 years ago, running the marathon, and announcing each of our pregnancies… once you put it out there, it becomes a lot more real!
