I’m not gonna lie, it’s been a busy week! I drove the kids down to my parents for a few days so there hasn’t been a whole lot of DIYing. There HAS been a whole lot of Target shopping going on, so there’s that! Here’s a sneak peak of a project I was desperately trying to finish before we left but my need for 3-5 hours of sleep each night got the best of me! Stay tuned.
Given that our house is fast becoming B-roll footage for Hoarding, Buried Alive, I decided to post another vicarious Craigslist post for you in honor of my stint in Northern Virginia (Holla, NOVA!). If you’re local, c’mon… these things are waiting for a good home…
First, a little cheat sheet on how I idly search Craigslist. This is for those nights when I’m antsy for a project, but have nothing specific in mind… I search within the furniture by owner section and limit the value of items to $75 or so. I also check the “pic” box since without images, I’m not interested. Lastly, I look at everything in a grid layout so make sure you’ve chosen “gallery” format.
This set is crazy simple, but picture this with a larger DIY topper and some funky fabric!
I’m a sucker for these retro porcelain topped tables. I got a smaller version of this for a kids activity table in the corner of the family room. Indestructable-ish.
This couch is the reason why I can’t search Craigslist anymore… we’d have 12 couches.
A solid wood dresser can go anywhere. Quote me on that. DIY blogger, out.
I never had one of these as a kid, but I’m imagining how I could recover the pillow here and let the kids sit together in their reading nook all cozy and getting along and not scratching each other.
This would have been mine if it had been listed in Connecticut. I mean, the lines alone are fantastic but having a large comfy couch on your patio (once I added a cushion with an amazing fabric)? Priceless.
I just want to stick a big bouquet of flowers in here NOW! (I might ask if they’ll ship…)
This could be a crazy fun little chair for a desk… adios the blue velvet and you can pick ANYTHING to upholster with to modernize it.
I don’t love this coffee table alone, but a thin piece of foam and a fun rug on top? Well that’s an ottoman/ table I’d k-i-s-s sitting in a tree with my baby carriage.
I have a lamp problem. And this is why. You guys!!!! $40 for this amazing chandelier…
Whatever… it says label maker. You know you want it too.
This is like a DIY blank slate… upholster the top and add tacks, paint it, cover with sheet metal, cover with a mirror…
I love a nice wing chair. That is all.
This is much too bulky for my home, but this would be my new front hall bench in a heartbeat if I had a larger foyer. Storage? Check. Fun design? Check. I’d add some foam and fabric and stick some shoes into the cubby holes below.
Finally, since we all have money to burn, here are a few ways that you COULD spend it. Just in case spending lots of cash was an agenda item for you today… Confession: I love this elephant bench… but I’d offer $50 and offend the owner and the whole thing would get sad very fast.
There’s a lot going on here… just sayin’. A lot alot. SO yeah… I’d say unique is right.
Finally, this? It’s a bad iPhone picture. Makes you want to drop $16K, right?! You read that right, $16,000 dollars.
And since you’ve spent all your money on these Craigslist scores, go enter for a chance to win a MOHAWK RUG!
