Now, onto craft time! You just never know what treasure you might drag out of Goodwill on any given day. On this particular day, this $3 candle holder was my gem.
‘Say what?!’ you’re thinking. Buckle up folks, it’s craft time. You know I like myself a dollar store as much as the next gal, so I had these two rolls of jute (?) in one of my junk drawers… So to be clear… $1 a piece.
I had a few episodes of Project Runway to catch up on, so I sat down and got to wrapping.
I wanted to accentuate the contours of the pumpkin so I wrapped the jute around each wire inside out. I worked my way into the middle of the pumpkin from either end. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is all I can say about that.
To give the leaf and stem a little color, I hit it with Annie Sloan’s Antibes Green.
Not that a candle holder is a bad thing, but c’mon… for $4 (I only used one roll of jute), this wrapped pumpkin is so much cuter, right?!
And not for nothing, those folks on Project Runway are b-a-n-a-n-a-s!
