What were you all doing on Tuesday morning at 11:32? Us? We were meeting Louisa Bacon Smith and her 8 lbs, 12 oz of edible deliciousness.
More specifically, I was meeting Louisa. To say she arrived in a hurry would be an understatement… I’ll elaborate later, but Mark didn’t make it to the hospital from New York City. Apparently the 37 minutes between Baby Gap and the hospital didn’t allow quite enough time for him to travel the 58 miles from his NYC office. Thankfully, my mother was on hand to act as copilot and everyone was just happy not to have delivered a baby in the dressing rooms.
The big kids came to meet their baby sister in the hospital yesterday and everyone was thrilled! Eleanor got to hold her sister, Oliver declared her “Tow Toot” and Martha pointed out the “baby” in between crawling around on the furniture.
As was the case when Martha was born, the motorized bed was a BIG hit as were the presents they got from Louisa. Clever baby… butter them up early. (And Eleanor’s wearing one of the little hats they gave Louisa in the nursery.)
Bear with me as I indulge my baby love as there will probably be some Louisa posts in the coming weeks. I’m planning to post on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a few weeks while the dust settles, then ease into three days a week… and finally back to normal when I feel like we’re in a good little routine. MWAH! Look at that face!!
We’re overjoyed that this bundle of joy with a full head of hair has finally arrived! She doesn’t know what fun and love she has in store for her!
