Beautiful New Furniture for our Front Hall

Disclosure: I’m so grateful to Bassett Furniture for partnering with me on this foyer refresh. They provided me with the gorgeous pieces and I couldn’t be happier!

Our foyer was one of the last rooms in the house to get a little makeover love. Right when we moved in, I repainted a thrifted foyer table and I gave some bright red chairs a bit of a make-under.  Essentially the space had an assortment of furniture I pulled together and that’s how it’s been for a couple of years. Until NOW! I am THRILLED to be partnering with Bassett Furniture to share some of their GORGEOUS furniture from their Labor Day launch collection.

Our large round antique mirror took years off my life to hang so that is never coming down… which only meant I needed to find furniture that would compliment it! The Bluffton console table is SO chic and has the best profile. It doesn’t have the storage that our other foyer table has, but we don’t really need storage in this space. I love having a place to tuck my big glass jars and that basket will work for the kids boots come winter when they’re getting on and off the bus.

The table complements the smaller Bluffton end table across the room against the stairs. I am LOVING this raw wood tone and adore how it works with our historic pine floors as well as that glorious new black spindle chair and our black stairs.

Another dynamic that I’m trying to keep in mind is that my business has to keep moving forward, but this will not be our foyer eventually, so I need to choose pieces that can work in any room in any home. These are so universally amazing that I have no doubt they can fit in many ways in many spaces.

Before we leave the mirror wall, I need you to ogle those Conklin lamps. They have a lucite base and a clear orb finial and they are to die for. I love the shape. I love the bright white. They’re substantial so they fill in our large foyer wonderfully!

There used to be a painted Craigslist cane loveseat against the stairs. The colors weren’t quite right and I was excited for something new. I would adopt this Pippa spindle chair if I could. Welcome it into the family, birth certificate in hand, ready to name it Bridget Smith (our girl’s name that was never needed). It comes in a variety of finishes and fabrics and I love it with my whole heart.

Remember that time I made mudcloth placemats and then that other time I made mudcloth patterned shoes and then that other time I made mudcloth painted ceramic vases? Yeah… so I’m Charlotte and I love all things mudcloth like that Alden gray pillow.

I love that my color palette is pretty consistent so I can swap around lots of decor items from around the house. These two pieces of art (here and here) are all my favorite colors so they will get along anywhere! This foyer is a big neutral space so I wanted some color. I also love that these are the first things you see when you come in our front door.

And then last but not least… that rug. That rug (the Adelia) is truly the softest thing in our home and it brings in a perfect subtle pattern to the room. Its low pile so nice and plush and introduces a bit of cozy texture to the space. We used to have a much larger rug in here, but when we listed the house, it was suggested that we go a bit smaller to highlight the floors and make the space seem more transitional. We had one rug that always seemed a bit small to me, but this Bassett one totally works and I think it’s the texture/ graphic combo.

During a time in our life where the future is a little hazy, it’s so nice to walk into a space and feel a little bit of excitement for the new look. This will probably sound woo woo, but that’s the sneaky thing about design and decor… it *does* impact how you’re feeling! Like it or not, our homes are not just a shell in which we function, they are an integral part of us. Feeling happy or uplifted by a space… matters. Sure, it doesn’t have to be an entire set of furniture, but maybe it’s a new vignette for your coffee table or a colorful tassel on a basket… bring happiness into your home! Thanks again to Bassett Furniture for working with me on this post… I’m a very happy camper this Labor Day!
