I know it’s not for a couple of weeks, but I thought I’d amaze you with my Father’s Day gift planning organization. That and save you on some express shipping in case you decide to buy anything from this list! As always, most of these are Smith tested and Smith approved… many are kicking around chez Ciburbanity so we can vouch for their awesomeness… and others are just pipe dreams!
Mark used to be a backpack guy. But that always seemed a little underwhelming as he was walking off to conquer the finance world… he’ll never be a briefcase guy, so this is a nice compromise! You can’t beat the durability of Patagonia, and it’s a little cooler than a double shouldered Jansport
We started watching Season 1 and got interrupted, but now that the series is over, I feel like we missed out on a piece of pop culture. Binge watching at your fingertips here!
I’m late to the fit bit bandwagon, but no question it’s useful to have a sense of daily activity and sleep habits, etc. I mean, let’s be honest… we’re not getting any younger, knowwhatImean?
Just because. Also? This would make Oliver the happiest kid to see his dad using this!!
Mark started subscribing to this after he built our garage tool bench a couple of years ago… the projects are useful and relevant and usually pretty simple. And if you just haaaaapppppen to flip through for some ideas, then… bonus!
Alright, truth be told, I’m not totally sold on one of these. Our neighbors have one and it’s loud and invasive and I always feel like they’re spying on me, but… it’s also TOTALLY the sort of thing Mark would love. With a camera rigged, this could be so cool at the beach or on the golf course or something. Just not hovering over my backyard.
I stopped fitting maternity clothes about 6 weeks ago, so men’s shirts have been my saving grace. They’re the only things long enough to cover the belly without letting in a draft. This is one of my favorites that I stole from Mark!
If you don’t know Gray Malin then you should. His photography is colorful and mesmerizing and whimsical and so pretty. We have a print of his that used to hang over the ombre file cabinet in the old house and I love it. This one is of Central Park, but you can choose one with a personal significance… and follow him on Instagram to pretty up your feed!
9. Bacon Donuts
Blame the baby, but maaaaan how good does this look? It probably makes sense to order some extra and give them a taste before Father’s Day just to make sure they’re okay, right?
10. Grilling Plank
Anything that gets you off cooking duty is worth it in my book, but these look like they would make for some delicious grilling! Bring it on, summer!
Something about a chic cooler of drinks just makes me want to barbecue and entertain and light the tiki torches! We usually just used a galvanized bucket, but I love that this is a little higher and easier to access!
These are a splurge for sure, but who better to spoil then your baby daddy. These are by my friend Page Sargisson and are SO cool and unique. Dads are sometimes hard to treat to something special, so this is a nice option for you!
Bonus. Apple TV
If you’re feeling like cable is a jillion dollars every month, but you like have more options than just your computer, this is an inexpensive solution! We have an older model and use it all the time to listen to music on our television, watch Netflix, etc. etc. Like most of our gadgets, it’s also a safe bet that we’re not using nearly enough of the features that come with Apple TV.
