Oh my goodness!!! After 2 months with projects and posts coming out my ears… 2015 is starting with a decidedly blanker slate. We have some potentially huge projects on the horizon (stay tuned!), but plenty of smaller ones that I wanted to share with you now. Because the last two weeks have consisted of pulling pine needles out of my clothes, removing painters tape off from the walls after the kids are finished ‘decorating’ and generally enjoying some quiet chaos around the holidays at home… not a lot got done!
After Christmas every year, there’s always this moment when I look out at the house and see STUFF. EVERYwhere. So along with the rest of the blogging world, I’m hoping to get a handle on the toys and the clothes and the shoes and the hats and the gloves and the pantry.
Another big goal I have for the year is to learn and explore upholstery a bit more. I’ve done the odd seat cushion or a headboard or an armchair, but never a full upholstery project. I’m thinking of fiiiinally tackling this little gem I’ve had from the flea market for months.
While we’re on the topic of upholstery… I have some ideas for our master bedroom that I need to kick into gear. One may or may not involve a new headboard and this Lacefield Designs Fabric. *Swoon*
I’ve made some changes in the kids’ room that I’ve never shared with you! Excited to show you how the space looks now… here’s how it looks on the home tour. And it’s muuuuch different now.
Oh hey, Better Homes and Gardens, what’s up! Yeah… I still have to dish all the behind the scenes fun from my photo shoot before Christmas. Check newsstands in February for yours truly and a little ol’ ombre file cabinet… I won’t let you forget!
Emails just went out for #SwapItLikeItsHot Threepeat… stay tuned for another amazing group of bloggers who will work some magic with flea market finds they’ve received in the mail from each other! (See rounds ONE and TWO.)
Lastly, I got a router for Christmas. Yep. A ROUTER. So excited. I’m now stalking Pinterest for exciting things I can make with a brand new router. Decorative edges? Bookshelves? Monograms? GUYS… so many choices!
As for my blogging goals… I already checked off one big one this past week (aren’t vacations the best?!)… check out my gallery pages! I was able to recategorize everything so now each post will automatically pop into the right gallery rather than having to enter each one manually. Can you say time saver?
Other goals are to continue building relationships with all the amazing brands that I’ve met as a result of this blog. I already mentioned Lacefield, but RugsUSA played a HUGE part in the kids room redesign, I’d LOVE to work with Home Depot again after the Plywood Challenge this fall, and I’m testing out one of these pillow kits from CuttingEdge Stencils so I’ll tell you’ll all about that. I’ve contacted the folks at both Neil Lane diamonds and Audi and I’m feeling pretty good that both of those brands will want to get involved big in 2015… *sarcastic wink*.
And then of course getting to know more and more of my amazing readers! Each month more and more of you join the Ciburbanity club and I LOVE being able to connect with you via Facebook, Instagram, and comments! (And yeah… I’m on Twitter, kinda sorta… Tweet me!)
