Tell me this isn’t the CUTEST?! I added the adult version to my cart about a zillion times without buying it and now it’s sold out. Whomp whomp.
Be careful reading this with too many postpartum hormones… the illustrations alone will make you blubber, but the sweet words will make you want to hug that baby every ten minutes!
My big kids adore these and Louisa’s just start wearing her first pair. They’re easy for kids to put on and take off, the soles have enough tread so they’re not too slippery, and… they’re FUN!
4. Sleep Nest
I just ordered a new one for Louisa because the two we’ve been using are getting to be threadbare after 3 older siblings. We’ve been through a lot of sleepers and these take the cake. They have snaps at the shoulders and big zipper down the middle so they’re super easy to get wiggly babies in and out. The colors are my favorite, and they’re just padded enough to be warm and cozy without overheating.
These stacking toys are so simple and yet SO popular. We have a few different sets and inevitably the kids will fish them out of a toy basket and put them all together at least once a week. Martha’s into anything that can hold water, and Louisa likes cups because she can plunk smaller toys inside.
We have one from Eleanor that’s on its last legs. These little toys pack a punch… they squeak, they rattle, they stretch, they’re colorful… they’re chewy. We’ve been through a lot of these little toys, but this one’s still a favorite.
These are hard to find, but are so sweet they’re worth it. Eleanor’s had one with her since she was a baby and I’ve since tried to introduce a few more into the rotation. They’re felted wool so the more you’re little one hugs and loves it, the softer it gets. I love the neutral color and the fun little sewing details.
8. Mini Piano
Note that the pitch of these little piano’s will not be melodic when your child is pounding on it, but… it’s the perfect height for toddling babies and the keys produce surprisingly legitimate piano notes. Louisa goes right for this every time we’re in the playroom and grins from ear to ear at her musical prowess.
This little gizmo was a birthday present for Louisa and she goes for it every time! There’s nothing electronic about it… you just press the button and listen to the sound. The arrows help move the light to different sounds on the MyPad.
10. Chest Rub
Granted, this isn’t the best gift of all time compared to the Whoozit, but… we go through these wonderful chest rubs like butter. It’s gentle for babies and smells soothing and comforting… We put it on the kids’ chest, their back and then sometimes on their feet under socks.
BONUS GIFT: Reusable Food Pouch
I pulled these out yesterday for Louisa and was reminded how AMAZING they are!!! She can have yogurt or applesauce or pudding or a homemade smoothie just like the big kids… where have these been all my life?
What baby gifts are on your list this year?!?! I’m always looking for ideas! #WednesdayPlayday
