Cabinet Knob Jewelry Display

Psssst… this post *might* contain affiliate links: see my disclosure here.

My name is Charlotte and I have an accessories problem. Thankfully, not the blingy expensive, ‘hide your jewelry’ type of stuff, but lots of it nonetheless. Necklaces are my vice. I’ll wear 5 at one time without flinching. (Some might argue that perhaps I should flinch more than I do and ease up on the baubles but… not gonna happen, sorry!)  D. Lawless Hardware partnered with me on this post and I’ve always loved their green glass knobs, but with a house full of kids… glass anything isn’t feasible. But then we moved and my necklaces have been living all wrapped up in a basket without any love. Time for some jewelry lovin’ y’all!

This old tray set me back $5 at the flea market. We think maybe it’s a form of a printer’s tray, but who knows. It was the peanut butter to my jelly and I love it. I cleaned it a bit first. (Sidenote: Have you all used Restor-A-Finish? (affiliate) They don’t know who I am, but if you work with wood at all, you should know about this… it cleans off the ‘gook’ that collects on old wood without sanding.) For this tray, I obviously didn’t want to sand, but… see how nice the wood looks when I hit it with Restor-A-Finish and some steel wool? Better, right?! I loved the plastic labels so left those behind.

Here’s where the D. Lawless love comes in. Remember those glass knobs that were unusable on my drawers because of kids who use said knobs as a ladder to climb up onto counters? Well… how gorgeous do they look mounted on this tray to hold all my bauble-y beauties?! I screwed these in and then used my Dremel Multi-Max to quickly cut off the excess length of screw so the nuts were flush with the back of the printer’s tray.

The current state of our bathroom (where I plan to hang this) is lots and lots of floral wallpaper (no bueno for a photo shoot) so I hung it on our outdoor shed. No… I don’t store my necklaces out here, don’t worry.

I love the beautiful green knobs up against the old wood. I didn’t bring out all my necklaces, but there’s plenty of room to load up more! I placed the knobs so that the necklaces wouldn’t hang in the way of each other, but I could easily fit another couple along the top edge if I need more storage down the line! (#justincase)

This could work with any fun decorative knob and any sort of picture frame if you’re not into the flea market look… Storing jewelry is always a challenge for me, but I love how this showcases my hoard, keeps them from getting tangled AND has them easily accessible! Win-win-win!

  1. Looks very pretty. I used Restore a Finish on the woodwork around the picture window in the living room. One of our dogs used to like to look out the window and left a lot of scratches. This was a wonderful product so I bought all different shades and is the first thing I go to when I have a scratch. I LOVE this product.

  2. Lovely! I also just wanted to let you know that when I pull up your site, it immediately connects me to some game site and I have to close out and open safari again. It’s happened every time for a week now and not sure if anyone has that issue but it may be something to check into!

    1. Hi Katie! Thanks!! Are you coming to it from a mobile? I’ve been going to battle with my ad folks as that’s something on their end. SO frustrating!!!! At this point, I think I’m going to remove all ads until they can figure it out. Appreciate you letting me know.
