While prowling around one of my favorite little shops the other day, I stumbled on these OMG necklaces. And let me just say, they are like a million percent prettier in person. They’re also a million percent more than I can spend on a necklace right now.
But… I happened to have this amazeballs resin Buddha courtesy of Michael’s. I mean, that green…swoon.
I am NO jewelry designer, but I love beads which means have a little stockpile of old necklaces, etc. The closest I had to my inspiration were some simple green glass beads.
One of the details I loved most was the colorful little pop of tassel color… there was some embroidery thread leftover from this project, so I laid out three colors to see what I liked.
The fuschia was the hands down winner for me. I wrapped it around three fingers a couple dozen times, tied off one end, and cut the loop on the other end leaving behind a nice little tassel.
Put it together and what have you got? (Bibbity bobbity boo…)
(And you’re welcome for not modeling this in person… #nomaternitymodelherefolks)
