This room is a little tricky to furnish because every wall has something funky going on: windows, a closet, a sloped ceiling, and a bathroom cut out. The only wall for the beds is under these windows.
Before we even moved in, we had to remove all the (very dirty) wall-to-wall carpeting and remove the carpet tacks. We took advantage of a visit from my family (they had to work for food) and painted these fun yellow and white stripes on the floor with porch paint.
We used to have twin beds up here, but those got moved downstairs to the new addition to make room for this beautiful antique double bed. We learned the hard way that older beds do NOT have the same dimensions as the current beds, so we had to create our own box spring by screwing in boards and the mattress might be squished in there.
I bought a plain white duvet at Ikea and ombred it with some green dye.
Martha’s still in her crib, but it’s just a matter of time before our wild child learns to break free and moves into her own bed!
